The Geneva Activity & Education Department (GAED) is an authorized provider of the American Red Cross. GAED currently has five instructors who teach both community and professional classes. Learn how to provide immediate care until professional help arrives. Professional classes are for those who are employed or volunteer in the health care system (nurses, lifeguards, firemen, EMTs, etc.), community classes are for those who want to be confident in providing proper help. GAED teaches many CPR classes to daycare centers, schools, fire and rescue departments, and manufacturing plants (American Red Cross' classes meet OSHA guidelines).
GAED also offers American Red Cross lifeguard training classes and swimming lessons.
GAED is fortunate to have instructors who are available to instruct classes both during the work day and in the evenings. We hold classes at one of our facilities but we can also come to your workplace if you prefer. Class prices typically run from $40.00-$50.00/student and certification is good for two years.
If you're ever interested in becoming a certified American Red Cross instructor, please contact Valerie at the GAED office.
