Humanities Nebraska speaker
David Seay
will present his program
"The 'Tradition' in Traditional Folk Music"
on June 27, 2018,
at 3:00 p.m.

Seay examines how, over the generations, folk traditions of different cultures have merged to become our own traditions as immigrants found their way to Nebraska. This presentation features demonstrations and stories of folk instruments such as harmonica, penny whistle, Lakota-style flute, ocarina, pan pipes, yak horn, bugle, musical saw, banjo, singing bowl, and limbertoys. Following the presentation will be a harmonica workshop for ages 6 and above to learn how to play a harmonica.
