Education
The present public educational system in Geneva consists of an organizational pattern of grades preschool, kindergarten through 4th, 5th through 8th, and 9th through 12th. Geneva Public School and Fairmont High School consolidated several years ago to create Fillmore Central Public Schools. Fillmore Central Elementary and High School are located in Geneva and Fillmore Central Middle School is located in Fairmont.
The mission of Fillmore Central Public Schools is to provide all students the opportunity and support to achieve excellence, develop responsibility, and become life-long learners.
Fillmore Central Elementary School
The Elementary School is located at 225 North 17th Street and houses Tykes, Kindergarten, and grades 1st through 4th. The school opened in 1963 and currently averages around 208 students.
Fillmore Central Middle School
The Middle School is located at 950 F Street in Fairmont, which is located 6 miles north of Geneva on highway 81. The school has an enrollment of approximately 200 students and houses grades 5th through 8th. An addition to the original school was built in 1981. The building has two computer labs, science lab, media center, family and consumer science room, a full-sized industrial technology shop area, and a 500-person capacity gymnasium.
Fillmore Central High School
The High School is located in the north part of Geneva at 1410 L Street and houses grades 9th through 12th. The high school was built in 1974 and has an enrollment of approximately 200 students. The Senior High Curriculum consists of over 75 classes in academic, vocational, fine arts and other areas. The school also offers distance learning and online college courses.
